Hilaria Baldwin Shocks Fans With Heartbreaking News About Her Pregnancy
Hilaria Baldwin has recently opened up about the situation that is her current (and fifth) pregnancy, and it’s nothing close to good news.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Baldwin speculated that she may not be able to carry her pregnancy to term. As she put it, her miscarriage is all but ongoing, with her baby’s heartbeat being irregular and weak, and the embryo not showing signs of growing.
Though she was being patient, she admitted that the whole situation was taking a toll on her emotional and physical wellbeing. However, a mother never loses faith in her child, and she hopes that although the chances are extremely slim, she will see her pregnancy through.
Buzz
Being open about her possible miscarriage has created some buzz, and Hilaria now has to explain why she decided to share her unfortunate situation with the rest of us.
According to the yoga instructor, her openness on miscarriage is the first step towards starting a serious conversation around the topic, in a bid to reduce the fear and the stigmatization of women who fall prey to the misfortune.
Speaking to TODAY, Baldwin says that there are a lot of superstitions surrounding miscarriage, and the misconceptions around it all force women to suffer in silence.
What she aims to do, therefore, is to let everyone know that it is okay to speak up on the anguish that comes along with losing your child. As she puts it, no one should be forced to live in fear of a naturally-occurring experience, however unfortunate it may be.
Hilaria first got worried about her pregnancy when she went in for an ultrasound and the gynecologist couldn’t trace a heartbeat. This is the same doctor she had been seeing during her previous pregnancies, so she had full trust in his analysis of the situation.
The 35-year-old was then advised on when next to come in for another checkup, and this is when the doctor established that the embryo’s heartbeat was irregular. This is what prompted the possible miscarriage talk, but the fitness enthusiast insists that were she to miscarry, she wouldn’t be at fault.
To this, she adds that women should stop blaming themselves for losing a child along their pregnancy, urging them to be more forgiving to themselves.
More Common Than You Think
What we may not know is that miscarriages are fairly common, according to ACOG. They say that of the total number of pregnancies that are clinically recognized in the States, 10% end up being miscarriages. A whole ten percent!
Ever since Hilaria Baldwin shared news of her misfortune with the world, she says that she has received words of wisdom from a lot of women, both online and those who know her personally. She comes out strongly to say that misfortune is never about the individual going through it – it is about all women.
Hilaria’s husband, Alec Baldwin, has also publicly shown how supportive of a husband he is. He reposted her Instagram post, captioning it with words echoing his wife’s commitment to supporting other women in a situation similar to hers.
