Jennifer Lopez Is Making 49 Look 29 – Here is the Secret Behind Her Agelessness
Would you believe that Jennifer Lopez is 49? She hardly looks a day over 25! Women her age would die to look half as stunning as she does. Her secret, you may ask? Making smart and healthy choices, she says.
Eating Healthy
Miss Lopez is as talented as she is beautiful – acting, singing, dancing, she does it all. Additionally, she is obsessed with all things health and fitness. She says that sticking to her diet is a full-time job, and as such avoids sugar, salt, dairy, carbs, and processed foods. Every serving she gobbles up is entirely made up of fresh produce.
To top it all off, the star does not drink, smoke, or indulge in caffeinated and sugary drinks. According to her, it’s been years since she last had a cup of coffee. She adds that the popular and seemingly minute habits wreck one’s skin as they grow older, and that’s why she steers clear of them.
A typical morning for J. Lo starts with a whey protein chocolate shake, which is low in calories but high in protein. She mixes the whey with water or quinoa milk to avoid the extra calories. As she explains it, starting the day with protein intake keeps her satiated for longer. Whenever she is craving something sweet, protein foods are her go-to snacks as they fill her up and refuel her energy tank to keep her active for the rest of the day.
Healthy Snacking
During the day, Lopez snacks a lot, but her snack options err on the healthier side, of course. Organic vegetables such as cucumber, Brussels sprouts, celery with the occasional vinaigrette dressing all feature. The second meal of the day for J. Lo must typically be a vegetable-rich salad with a source of lean protein.
On an ordinary day, twins Max and Emme are usually seated at the dinner table around 6:30 p.m., sharing a meal with their mom. Ms. Lopez is a firm believer of the notion that when one is keen on taking care of themselves, they are in a better position to take care of their loved ones too. It is, therefore, safe to say that she keeps herself healthy for the sake of her 10-year-old twins.
Her favorite ingredients are broccoli, peppers, zucchini, and salmon but she also loves experimenting with new foods. If she finds herself eating out for lunch, she is very cautious about what she orders off the menu. She only opts for low-carb foods that are healthy and in line with her high-protein diet.
Come dinner time and you’ll always find Ms. Lopez cooking her own meals in the kitchen. As you might have already guessed, her dinner plate always has to have some protein element on it, which could either be chicken, a turkey breast, or pork, served on a bed of quinoa or brown rice. J. Lo admits that she loves cooking, and makes it a point to have dinner with her kids whenever she can.
Naturally, J. Lo also works out, regardless of where she may be. Whether on the set of a movie she’s acting in, traveling the world on tour, or just spending time at home, the singer cum actress makes sure she exercises at least three times a week. When she’s in LA, she gets trained by Tracy Anderson, whereas in New York, she works with David Kirsch.
