Meet Helene – The 93-Year-Old Dance Queen

Meet 93-year-old Helene Miller, who is not slowing down on her dance moves due to old age. You will be surprised to see that she can dance even better than she did years ago. Early last week, a South Dakota-based lady by the name Joana Zanin uploaded a video showing her mother, Elizabeth, at her fitness studio busy with Helene as the latter learned new dance moves. It’s a very touching one!

Helene Has The Moves

Joana posted a caption underneath the video and wrote that her mom teaches Helene how to dance and to her (Joana), that moment was the cutest moment ever, especially when she saw the nonagenarian’s beautiful smile which made her look young. 18-year-old Joana also said she felt deep gratitude for the seemingly small things she overlooked in life when she watched Helene’s joy and heard her laughed happily.

Her mother, 46-year-old Elizabeth Zanin, is a dance tutor who has been meeting and training Helene at least three times per week for close to 24 months. Their training sessions usually center on balance, coordination, and strength.

Helene Was Seriously Ill But Now She Feels Much Better Thanks To The Dancing Lessons

Surprisingly, Helene was seriously sick three years ago, and she was afraid to die, but now, her health is fully back, and she even enjoys her life the more. She said whenever she doesn’t visit the gym; she would feel different because the gym is a good message to her and she always has something to expect every week.

Her trainer, Elizabeth, also testified that the old woman always brings the sweetest part of her attitude to class. Helene loves to talk about herself and her family. She is a grandmother of two grandchildren, she gave birth to two children (males), and has one very kind daughter-in-law.

Helene is gifted with a contagious laughter and big smile. Her unique character made it easy for her video to go viral on the internet and within days, mama Helene has gathered many fans and still counting.

Her Trainer Elizabeth Hopes That Helene’s Video Will Encourage More Older People To Join The Gym

Elizabeth is hoping that when more people watch the video, older people in Helene’s age group can also be motivated to follow in her footsteps and register for gym classes. She expressed her sadness at the rampant helplessness of elderly people who find it difficult to look after themselves and easily throw in the towel when they don’t get the encouragement they need, but she advised them always to exercise their bodies because that’s the only thing they can do for themselves.

Zanin is not ready to just talk and talk without actions; she has it in mind to launch an initiative that will provide gym enrollment free of charge to interested aged people who may be financially handicapped to pay for fitness classes.

Elizabeth is also the chief executive of Pierre Dance School, a studio where she teaches dance to toddlers, students, and adults different dance steps. Among her achievement in the dance school is one program where she gives out scholarships to her students. She explained that she gives scholarships to outstanding and serious children in the community who are unable to pay for more dance courses.

Helene Hopes There Will Be Soon A New Video Of Her Dancing

Excited Helene joked that a new video might be released very soon, and she may appear in it dancing on her feet this time around. She said she spends her free time either exercising, playing bridge, rehearsing calligraphy, or singing as a chorister in her church.

Exercising is very important for our health, especially as you get older

Helene is a true role model for many elderly people. She exhumes youthful spirits and doesn’t act her age, always busy living her life to the maximum. However, she doesn’t see much about her life, she considers herself as just being fortunate. Below is the summary of some reactions from her fans who saw the video.

Kendall Jenner posted on February 15th after watching the video and wrote her feelings which say that it made her day seeing Helene doing her thing. She described it as the best thing that ever happened to him.

Another user by the name @actiondreams posted the next day and expressed her amazement at the 93-year-old’s agility. She admitted feeling oppressed at Helene’s courage.
