So if you can’t sleep or not getting a good rest, here are some tips that might just help you get a better sleep and help you reclaim your mornings!

DO SOME EXERCISE DURING THE DAY

Adding exercise to your daily routine can help you fall asleep faster and enjoy a more relaxing sleep. If you can time it correctly, you would feel a little tired by bedtime which can help you fall asleep faster. But be careful, since if you exercise right before sleeping, it may cause you to be too energized to fall asleep, and the result would be, you would be up all night while being really tired, and you’ll wake up feeling exhausted.

CREATE A PRE-BEDTIME RITUAL

No, we don’t mean that you should dance around a fire while doing some chanting. What we meant was, do the same thing each and every night so you’ll body will get used to it and it’ll be known that it’s time to wind down. Maybe take a nice, warm relaxing bath, or listen to mellow and relaxing music with the lights dimmed low. These kinds of pre-bedtime rituals can help your body by getting it used to the transition from awake to drowsy to asleep.

WATCH WHAT YOU EAT

Take your dinner about three hours before going to sleep. We’re not saying you should sleep on an empty stomach, because that’s just as bad as sleeping while you’re stuffed.

If you’re full, it will take longer for your stomach to settle down, and you won’t be able to fall asleep. If you get hungry right before bedtime, you should eat a light snack so it would be faster for your stomach to digest it. So avoid that last piece of pizza right before going to sleep.

AVOID LONG DAYTIME NAPS

When we were all kids, are parents always made us sleep during the afternoon, but now that we’re adults, you aren’t allowed do it anymore! Just kidding. Everybody loves nappies. But now, you should limit it to about 20 to 30 minutes so it would be a lot easier to sleep at night. Well, if you’re like us working the night shift, you have to make an exception to the rule since you’d be asleep during the day.

USE THE RIGHT KIND OF PILLOW

A pillow has to be just right. It has to be fluffy and the color pink with the words “Princess” embroidered on itOkay, just kidding! Your pillow shouldn’t be too thin since your head would be tilted backward; it also can’t be too high since your head would be at a bad angle, and that would be really uncomfortable. Having just the right pillow is important to getting a good sleep since it would help you fall asleep quicker, and you’ll wake up feeling like a million bucks.

SLEEPING IN A BETTER POSITION

There are some people that move a lot when they sleep, and when they wake up they’ll in be the weirdest and most awkward positions you could think of. Well, that may be a problem since you could wake up with some aches and pains throughout your entire body. What you should do is make it a routine to right before falling asleep, keep your head and neck in a straight position. Other than that just go with whatever is comfortable for you.
