Here is a Skincare Routine That Can Make You Look Youthful Even In Your 40s!
There is a high probability you are still using the same skincare products you were using when you were in your 20s, as they seemed to work wonders on your skin at that point in time. But you are not in your 20s anymore, and you must understand that your skin has different needs now which you must fulfill by using more specialized products that are easily available in the market.
Before we move forward and help you set-up your new skincare routine, it is important for you to understand the goal which you need to strive for with your skin. As you age, your skin starts losing its elasticity due to decreasing levels of collagen as well as elastin. This causes fine lines and wrinkles, which are definite signs of aging that most people around the world want to hide.
Thankfully, there are products which can boost the production of collagen and also elastin yet again and using them can potentially bring back that youthful look you used to have in your younger years.
The Routine You Need
The first step you must follow is to cleanse your skin to rid it of any pollutants it may have accumulated during the night. The goal is to undergo this cleansing ritual first thing in the morning, but make sure you don’t use a cleanser that is too harsh on your skin.
We recommend that you prefer a product which has milk-based ingredients in it as this would ensure your skin is not stripped of its essential oils.
Next, you need some serum to protect yourself against the outdoor pollutants as much as possible. While your skin is perfectly capable of producing enough sebum during your youth to offer this protection, with aging, this sebum-producing capability becomes compromised, requiring you to use a serum that would artificially compensate for the lack of it.
What you need is a good quality serum that includes peptides which boost the level of collagen in your skin. Also, make sure the serum you use contains either vitamin C or copper, as both stimulate collagen productivity but act against each other if contained within a single product.
The Journey to A Healthier Skin
You must already be aware of the connection between healthy skin and water, and that is where hyaluronic acid comes into the picture. The body is fully capable of producing all the needed hyaluronic acid during its youth, but in old age, this production is cut in half. A serum containing this acid is then essential to maintaining beautiful and healthy-looking skin.
After you are done cleaning your face and applying the serums, it’s time for the face cream. You can choose any simple moisturizer and that would be enough to cover your skin without making it too dry or oily and follow this cream with an SPF that is suitable for the amount of sunlight you are exposed to every day.
