6 Things To Do To Get A Good Night’s Sleep

Are you a night owl? Do you stay up at night and it is constantly bothering you? Well, you are not alone. A recent survey from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that 62% of adult men and women in the world think that they do not get a good night’s sleep. If you are on this list of night owls, you should ask yourself the fundamental question: “Why do I stay up at night, and how it is catastrophic for my health?”
Good night’s sleep makes you proactive and healthy. You can make the most out of your day if you get enough good night’s sleep. On the contrary, lack of sleep will make you dull, sleepy, and lazy. Above all, procrastination becomes normal to you if you do not sleep well.
Read on for our list of 6 things to do to get a good night’s sleep.
Reschedule Your Sleeping Routine

Do you keep scrolling on social media at night? Out of nowhere, it is 2:00 AM? Guess what, you spent a good half of the night – that was meant for relaxation for you – watching other people. More than ever, this is high time to prioritize yourself over others. To reschedule your sleeping routine.
Teach yourself to sleep on time and for 7 to 9 hours every night. Avoid using the phone on the bed. This will help you sleep and wake up on time. Our bodies are structured in a way that we can “tame” them to follow any routine that we make. And the sleeping routine is no exception.
Use Dim Lighting At Night

Cottonbro / Pexels / The outspoken entrepreneur Gary Vee says that he sleeps for 8 hours and always with a dim light.
This may seem pretty simple and straightforward. But dim lights play a key role in getting you a comfortable night’s sleep. Psychology argues that dim lights represent gloominess and that no one sleeps better than a gloomy person.
Another importance of dim lighting is that your eyes become comfortable and rest well. Ultimately, you get a refreshing night’s sleep. Try dim lighting in your bedroom and see its magic.
Say No To Afternoon Naps

Miriam / Pexels / Psychologists suggest that drowsiness and procrastination are the byproducts of lack of sleep.
This is an unpopular opinion. Science recommends afternoon naps for good health. However, a side effect of these naps can be insomnia. That is, if you sleep for an hour or two during the day, it may keep you awake at night.
So, a simple way to get a good night’s sleep would be to say no to afternoon naps and dedicate the nights to sleep.
Normal Temperature Bedroom
Another simple way to get a good night’s sleep is to keep your bedroom at a normal temperature. Be it in winter or summer. If the temperature of your room is too hot in winter, it will make your skin itchy and will keep you up at night. The same is true in summer.
Alcohol Won’t Help
Many people assume that alcohol helps in getting a good night’s sleep. But it is the other way round: it worsens it. 80% of alcohol drinkers feel that they do not sleep comfortably once they are intoxicated by alcohol.
Exercise Daily
I can’t emphasize this enough. A tired body sleeps way better than someone who sits on the couch all day long. So, exercise daily and see how you get a good night’s sleep.
