Having a Challenge Managing Your Allergic Reactions and Weight? Try Out Bee Pollen

So, what’s all this buzz about bee pollen and being nature’s most complete food? Well, let’s find out.
If you suffer from seasonal allergies, you can start taking bee pollen months before your allergic reactions kick in, and then continue throughout that period. Bee pollen, despite being the source of trouble for most allergic individuals, is also the most potent solution to the same.
So, What Exactly is Bee Pollen?
Bee pollen is a collection of pollen from different plants that have been mixed with nectar, a secretion from the bee’s salivary glands. Also known as “bee bread”, this mixture is then preserved in honeycombs covered with honey and wax. It is the main source of nutrition for young worker bees.

It is also termed is a complete food, rich in proteins, vitamins (Including B-complexes), amino and folic acids. It is referred to as a superfood. Little wonder that is the main diet for the worker bees. It contains more protein than any other animal source, and more than half of that protein is in the form of free amino acids.
According to Dr. Vincent Caruso Jr. of the New Jersey Total Health, bee pollen is easily absorbed into your body, and hence your body can easily utilize the nutrients contained therein.
What Research Says About Bee Pollen
While there are strong claims concerning the potency of this product, there hasn’t been conclusive research and reports showing the effectiveness of the bee product on human allergies. Most of the research done has been on animals.

The few experiments carried on humans produced positive results. One such experiment was done by Leo Conway, M.D of Denver Colorado. Conway administered a dose of bee pollen to his human patients with allergies for three years. Those who adhered to his directives reported getting relief from allergies, asthma, sinus problems, and even urinary disorders.
Doctors warn though, that this shouldn’t be taken as a leeway of consuming bee pollen without the approval of a qualified physician. There are still cases of severe allergic reactions stemming from the same. Physicians caution that those allergic to bee products and infants under 2 years should not consume bee pollen.
Further Cation
If you have to take bee pollen, and it’s recommended considering the nutrients it contains, Dr. Caruso advises that you should consider buying locally made products. Chances are that it will contain pollen from some of the plants that you are allergic to. If it does not have such pollen, then it will not be as effective. He also advises that you start your dosage early enough, preferably six weeks before your allergic period begins.
Concerning the dosage, you should go easy when starting, and gradually increase your daily intake with time. The best way is to start half a teaspoon, then increase to about three tablespoons per day. Granules, taken with meals like oatmeal, yogurt, and other foods is the best way of consuming the pollen. You should also consider refrigerating your bee pollen for a better and sweeter taste.
